I am thinking of getting a buzzcut.
this is my current hair, its thinning alittle but not too much and really doesnt like to cooperate when styled. im thinking of getting it cut with a 3 or 4 buzz. http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=...
any opinions of whether or not i should go get it buzzed?
Ladies, Short hair or not?
You could use a 3 which would look like it was a two and fade up into a 4 on the sides. Then have them texture cut the top. It seems to work for all my clients who are thinning. Also I would like to recommend shampoo that will aid in preventing more hair loss. That is Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. It is rather on the expensive side, but the benefits are great. Some of my clientele have had success with using this product and have seen hair thickening up. It is all natural ingredient shampoo and helps stimulate the scalp. Something we lack in doing when we shampoo. I don't know what you look like, but I think you will like the results with how you want to get it cut. Also when I cut guys hair I go a little shorter on the sideburns and a little bit around the ears since that is where hair seems to grow the fastest on guys.

Are you talking about leaving it the length it is verus cutting it or growing it out verus buzzing it?
Personally I like the extremes, hubby has long hair, to the middle of his back long, and I find it extremely sexy. But I like the buzzed look also, well on some people, based on your pic, you could go either way, I don't think it would look bad. Lots of guys take that route the minute they start to loose their hair, as long as you don't do a bad comb over lol

I personally like men with no hair, extremely short hair...or very long hair...so I have to say get a buzz cut.

My professional opinion would be to do a 2 or 3 guard on the sides and leave an inch on top and blend. I think it would enhance your looks greatly. It's also a fairly popular men's cut.
