Is there a hairstyle or some way to make my hair fuller at the crown and not so full at the bottom?

My hair dries stuck to my head! It's so unattractive. I have to use lots of root lifter and hairspray so it won't cling to my head as much. Then, the bottom portion of my hair (from my ears down) is full! My hair reaches the middle portion of my shoulder blades, so it's longer. Also, I have longer layers. The layers are about a half an inch to an inch shorter. Are there any hairstyles or hairstyle techniques that will add volume to the crown of the head and take volume away from the bottom portion? Help!

P.S. I don't want to cut my hair short or even shoulder length! I'm all for layers though! =]

lots of layers are a must!!Long hair @ one length is going to be big towards the end and weigh down the top..if you dont have very straight hair..I use a root lifter when my hair is wet and it helps alot.

You can get a great mousse that totally helps. If you get something for people with darker skin, who most of the time have thicker hair at the bottom and thin hair at the crown, you will be in total luck. I would look at Wal Mart for the perfect solution. Other than that, you are on your own.

If you take a few strands small amounts at the crown of your head like two or three strands in several places and cut them short like two or three inches from your head they are supposed to hold the rest of your hair up. A stylist did this to mine and it helped, also i would use a silk protein or repair of some kind for the bottom to make it slicker.
