I have very straight, baby fine hair. I am thinking about cutting it shorter for summer (it's currently an inch or two longer than shoulder length), but really need some ideas.
I've never cut my hair shorter than shoulder length, but definately want something shorter. I have an oval shaped face, if that factors in.
I've been looking around, but have only found cuts that my Mom would wear. I really need something simple and easy to take care of (I work outside in the summers).
Any ideas?

Definately get layers, it will make your hair appear thicker

You will want your hair cut in lenghts. Also you can make it look thicker if you apply root lifter to damp hair and blow dry it.Don't use conditioners they weight down fine hair.

I find anything too short you may have to spend some time styling. It is too hard just to pull it back. But the only thing that I have seen that looks cute is to get lots of layers all around, and flip the ends out. I love Redken Workforce 09. It is like a hair spray, but it is really lightweight, and is a great anti frizz. It works great to give volume.

If you want something shorter, I think this kind of hair looks really cute.. Especially with an oval face. Here, take a gander ...

Well I am a high schooler and a lot of my friends are getting bobs (you know the shorter in the back and longer in the front). They have thin whispyish hair too and it looks great on them. It's easy and my friend Olivia doesn't even blow dry her hair anymore. My hair is curly, so I definitely couldn't do it. Good luck with your decision though.

If you are afraid to lose your length then you could stick with some short layers. Shorter layers will help you have better volume and body. I also know that the shorter you are willing to go the better your hair will look fuller and thicker. I would try some layering around your face as well.
