Why does my hair/scalp itch all the time?

I cut my hair short and it itches all the time. Is it because my hair is growing back? What can I do to make my hair stronger and grow faster?

You probably just have dry scalp. And unfortunately the more you scratch the more it will itch. But this time of year it is more common...just like dry skin. Switch shampoos to one for dry scalp.

One other thing is that you could be allergic or have build up from a product you are using. I can't use Paul Mitchell at all. But Head and Shoulders or T-Gel (which stinks when using it, but it is strong) are some options.

I know a few people mentioned lice...go to your beautician or the instructor at a beauty school....they could check for you. Just to be on the safe side. If that is the case...you have a lot of work ahead of you. So I pray it isn't.

Well usually there are only two possible reasons: 1) nits 2) dryness. I probably think your scalp is dry. For that make sure you dont wash your hair everyday. Washing hair every day is also harmful for the hair as well as the scalp. Try washing hair once a week. If your scalp is dry and u have dandruff try head and shoulder or seson blue (just once a week). Try using hair oil. Use olive oil. Yes you can use it on ur scalp. For everyday usage use baby oil. Baby oil is not very oily and smells great too...I wish you all the luck!!

dandruff? Psoriasis? The shampoo you are using is not the right one for your hair type? Could be any of those reasons.
